venanzo crocetti, an italian sculptor, was born in giulianova, abruzzo, on august 3, 1913. his life was marked by a deep passion for art, which led him to become one of the most renowned artists of his time. at the age of 12, crocetti became an orphan and struggled with extreme poverty. however, his talent and desire to create saved him from these hardships. in 1928, he moved to rome, where he worked as a restorer in the vatican laboratories, including a four-year stint on the scaffolding of the sistine chapel.artistic achievements
venanzo crocetti's artistic career was marked by numerous achievements:- the door of the sacraments, finished in 1966, at st. peter's basilica.
