Gwangju Design Biennale
“GoatMan” is an experimental project based on the idea that human beings may be able to understand the environment by becoming other animals, such as a goat. For this project, Thwaits consulted experts from diverse fields, such as a neuroscientist, an ethologist, a veterinarian, and a prosthetist. After experimenting with several different prototypes, he conducted a project, in which participants accompanied a herd of goats in the Alps. In this exhibition, the three prototypes that Thwaites used in his Alps performance as well as video recordings of the proceedings of the project will be on display.
