Collectible Description

From the Artist: In April 2020, during the early part of the pandemic, there was so much apprehension and uncertainty, I wasn’t inspired to create and paint. It felt like we were all in a holding pattern. But then, a great source of inspiration was the selfless and fearless work of our healthcare workers and first responders. Another group of people that took charge to help were the everyday heroes within each community. Seeing them was heartwarming. I started contributing to these efforts in little ways - hand sewing masks, cutting fabric, donating paintings to benefit my local downtown and so on. From this, my Ripple series of paintings was born. Created as a response to the pandemic, my Ripple series is inspired by the ripple effect of goodness we experienced in our communities, even as the covid-19 pandemic engulfed and crippled us in many ways. We’ve seen and experienced the brave work of healthcare and emergency workers, and in each of our microcosms, seen people making masks, PPE, serving those in need and helping in just about every way, inspired and uplifted by one another. The colors chosen in this painting are evocative of the melange of emotions of this time.
