      Richard John Spare: A Life in Print & Paint Early Life and Education Born in London, United Kingdom in 1951, Richard John Spare developed a passion for art from an early age. He pursued formal training at Maidstone College of Art from 1971 to 1974, studying painting under the guidance of Fred Cuming.
