Dancing Horse

Caballo danzante (Dancing Horse) is a piece donated by the artist that shows an abstract figure of a horse. The piece breaks traditional planes by using an arbitrary perspective and colors applied based on the painting’s aesthetics. The back and feet of the animal are visible in an image with lines separating different areas of color. The long neck leads to a mouth of teeth, in an image that reflects parallelisms to the work of Rufino Tamayo and Wifredo Lam, and to the strange figures that appear in Francis Bacon’s crucifixion studies.
