Embossed design with the coats of arms of the Kingdom of Aragon
In the center of the card there is a coat of arms with the stripes of Aragon—four red stripes on a gold background—with a royal crown and supported by two custodian angels in papal dress. On the right, there is a coat of arms with the Cross of Saint George (and Alcoraz) featuring four sable left-facing Saracen heads—with ribbons across their foreheads—in silver. The crest on the left has the silver-plated Cross of Iñigo Arista on the left-hand side with a point at the bottom of the cross. The three arms are the oldest in the Kingdom of Aragon. The Sobrarbe tree, crowned by the Cross of Íñigo Arista, was added in 1492. A variety of animals can be seen among the foliage: monkeys eating pine cones, a fox with a duck in its mouth, a bird, and an owl. The decoration is inspired by paintings on illuminated manuscripts from the reign of Alfonso V of Aragon (1396/1416–58).
