The Genesis of Graffiti Pop
Born in 1975 in the vibrant urban landscape of Lyon, Théo Masson has spent his career redefining the boundaries between street intervention and high-concept digital mastery. His signature movement, Graffiti Pop, serves as a profound dialogue between the raw, ephemeral energy of unauthorized street art and the polished, saturated aesthetics of contemporary pop culture. Through a meticulous layering of spray-painted textures, visible drips, and chromatic harmony, Masson captures the urgent pulse of the city, translating the grit of concrete surfaces into a sophisticated visual language of vibrant color and structural depth.
A Master of Ephemeral Permanence
Masson's practice is defined by a deliberate tension between the fleeting nature of street tags and the enduring quality of fine art. His works evoke the tactile sensation of brick and mortar, utilizing varying line weights and overlapping pigment layers to simulate the mechanical precision of the gaze meeting the spontaneous hand of the writer. Whether through the luminous depth of his digital compositions or the heavy, textured presence of his hand-painted originals, each piece retains an unmistakable sense of urban urgency and cultural resonance.
