A Life in the Dutch Republic and England
Pieter Hermansz Verelst was a Dutch Golden Age painter born in Dordrecht. His life was marked by significant movement across the Low Countries; he began his career in Dordrecht, where he became a member of the city's Guild of Saint Luke in 1638.
