This method involves applying curving bands of intense color to water-saturated paper or in collages, using a liberal amount of water in the pigment. This process creates fragmented curves of color, reminiscent of a rainbow viewed through a kaleidoscope, resulting in an effect described as having the abstract vitality of music.
