George Frederic Watts (1817–1904) – Symboлистisk Kunst og Ærlighedens Stemme George Frederic Watts var en danskfødt engelsk maler og skulptør, hvis kunstværker har haft stor betydning for både britisk kunsthistorie og symbolistisk kunstbevægelse. Han blev født den 23. februar 1817 i Marylebone, London, og døde den 1. juli 1904 i Compton. Watts’ kunstneriske rejse begyndte tidligt, hvor han allerede som ung lærer under William Behnes udviklede sine skulpturelle færdigheder.
