tidligt liv og uddannelse

Fernando Fader, en franskfødt argentinsk maler, blev født den 11. april 1882 i Bordeaux, Frankrig. Hans familie flyttede til Argentina, mens han var ung, og han vendte senere tilbage til Europa for at modtage sin kunstneriske uddannelse. I 1900 blev Fader indskrevet ved det prestigefyldte München Akademiske Kunstakademi, hvor han blev undervist af Heinrich von Zügel, en fremtrædende skikkelse inden for den naturalistiske Barbizon-skole.

kunstnerisk karriere

Faders tidlige værker var karakteriseret ved hans postimpressionistiske stil, som ofte portrætterede landskaber og rurale scener. Hans første udstilling på Costa Salon i 1906 markerede begyndelsen på hans succesfulde karriere. Senere slog han kræfter med de ligesindede kunstnere Martín Malharro og Cesáre Bernaldo de Quirós for at danne Nexus-gruppen, som arbejdede for at fremme postimpressionismen i Argentina.
