He received his formal artistic training at the School of Fine Arts of Seville, studying under Antonio Cabral Bejarano. His professional career was deeply intertwined with this institution, where he served as a lecturer teaching drawing, perspective, and landscape painting, eventually becoming its director. Beyond his teaching, he was a founding member of the Liceo Artístico, an institution established to promote culture and art. His creative output was particularly prolific between 1852 and 1869, and he remained active in the art community until his death in Seville.
