The Genesis of a Visionary
Silvia Idili’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in the rugged, myth-laden landscape of her birthplace, Cagliari. Born in 1985, her early years in Sardinia provided a rich tapestry of folklore and ritual that would eventually become the bedrock of her visual language. As she transitioned from the ancient echoes of her homeland to the vibrant, contemporary pulse of Milan, Idili began to weave together a style that bridges the gap between classical Renaissance traditions and the enigmatic depths of metaphysics. Her work is not merely a depiction of reality but an exploration of mathematical harmonies and spatial symmetries found in the masters of the past, particularly those who sought beauty through precise geometric ratios.The Metaphysical Horizon
In her canvases, one encounters a world that feels both intimately familiar and profoundly alien. Idili’s aesthetic is heavily informed by the legacy of Giorgio de Chirico, adopting a neo-metaphysical approach where unsettling juxtapositions create a sense of psychological depth.
