This rigorous academic foundation instilled in her a commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development—qualities that permeate her artistic endeavors.
Influences: Chang’s artistic sensibilities are shaped by diverse sources, including the contemplative traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism, which emphasize mindfulness, compassion, and interconnectedness. These influences resonate throughout her oeuvre, particularly in her exploration of themes related to vulnerability, resilience, and the beauty found within imperfection.

Shanti Chang’s artistic practice spans a remarkable range of mediums—primarily installation art and watercolor landscapes—each chosen deliberately to convey specific emotional resonances. Her monumental “Seeing the Different Sky” project, comprised of 16,000 photographs meticulously arranged in a Lomowall installation, serves as a poignant meditation on childhood memories and the boundless potential for hope. This ambitious undertaking demonstrates Chang’s ability to harness visual storytelling to evoke profound feelings and stimulate contemplation about universal human experiences. Beyond large-scale installations, she excels at capturing serene landscapes with delicate watercolor techniques—a practice that reflects her appreciation for subtlety, nuance, and the transformative power of observation.
