Founded by Ángel Duarte, José Duarte, Juan Serrano, Juan Cuenca, and Agustín Ibarrola – architects, sculptors, and painters united by a shared conviction – the group represented a decisive step forward from earlier explorations of abstraction, prioritizing clarity and precision in their visual language. Their genesis lay firmly rooted in Theo van Doesburg’s seminal concept of “concrete art,” articulated in 1930.
