As her hands moved through cloth, she began to move away from the rigid, geometric constraints of traditional patterns, seeking instead a way to capture the ephemeral qualities of the natural world.

The true metamorphosis of her artistry arrived in 1983 with the creation of Red Poppies. This piece served as a pivotal milestone, marking her first foray into the use of curved seams—a technique that would become her most enduring signature.
