Life and Artistic Path
Born in Chomutov, Czech Republic, Ilja Sainer was a painter, sculptor, illustrator, and animator. After moving to Prague due to health reasons, he attended drawing courses and later studied mathematics and art education at Charles University. His artistic output was characterized by a transition from realistic painting to more radical expressions involving assemblage and spontaneous painting. His work has been exhibited in various galleries and museums, and a permanent exhibition of his work is located in the Astronomical Tower of the Regional Museum in Chomutov.
