Born in Maella, Aragon, Gargallo’s artistic journey began with formative years spent honing his craft in Barcelona, Catalonia, where he absorbed the vibrant cultural landscape of the era. His distinctive style emerged from a fascination with manipulating metal plates—a technique that yielded astonishingly expressive forms reminiscent of cubism and imbued with profound emotional resonance.
