Leonhard Lapin was a prominent Estonian architect, artist, architecture historian, and poet. A professor emeritus at the Estonian Academy of Arts, he was a forerunner of the avant-garde movement in Estonia, influencing the nation's art and architecture throughout the postwar 20th century. His creative practice was vast, spanning graphics, paintings, performances, and happenings. Throughout his career, he held significant academic positions, serving as a lecturer and professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts, the University of Tartu, and the Helsinki Institute of Technology.
