The Life and Career of Edwin Scharff
Edwin Scharff was a German sculptor born in Neu-Ulm. During the period of 1912 to 1913, he lived in Paris. After serving in the German army during World War One, where he sustained injuries, Scharff held a professorship of sculpture at the Vereinigte Staatsschulen für Freie und Angewandte Kunst in Berlin starting in 1923.
In 1928, Scharff won a bronze medal in the art competitions of the Olympic Games for his work titled "Médaille pour les Jeux Olympiques". Following his removal from his position in 1933, he worked at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf from 1934 to 1937.
