Hannah Frank was born on August 23, 1908, in Glasgow, Scotland, to Charles Fraiker and Miriam Lipetz, both Jewish immigrants from Russia. Her father, an engineer, had settled in Glasgow after immigrating from Vilkomir. The family lived in the Gorbals district of Glasgow, a vibrant area with a strong Jewish community.
