Frequent visits to Rome alongside Antonio Mancini and Francesco Paolo Michetti broadened his artistic horizons and exposed him to the influences of Italian Renaissance art. His success at subsequent exhibitions—including Turin in 1885 and Venice in 1908—established Tallone’s reputation as a respected portraitist amongst Milanese bourgeois, aristocratic circles, and intellectuals.
