Born in the small village of Vieiro, within the Freixiel region of northeast Portugal, Graça Morais Goih carries within her work the profound essence of the Trás-os-Montes landscape. Her artistic journey began with a childhood connection to color, sparked by a first box of watercolours gifted to her during her time in Mozambique. This early encounter with the medium laid the foundation for a career defined by an intimate exploration of nature and the human experience. After studying at the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes do Porto, she expanded her horizons through a transformative period in Paris, where she engaged with the vibrant contemporary art scene and founded the Puzzle Group, a collective that brought together diverse artistic voices to present paintings, installations, and performances.

Her development as an artist is marked by a transition from early experiments with oil painting—inspired by masters such as Gustave Courbet—to a mastery of more fluid, expressive mediums. Her work often breathes through the use of watercolor, where she employs loose brushstrokes and a sensitive touch to capture the ephemeral beauty of the natural world. Whether exploring the rhythmic movement in her The Hunt (Partridges) series or the textured, earthy depths found in her Spirit of the Olive Tree collections, Morais Goih creates a dialogue between the organic life of Portugal and the viewer's own emotions.
