A Life in Art and Education
Adelaide Perry was an influential Australian artist, printmaker, and respected art teacher. Born in Beechworth, Australia, she moved to New Zealand as a child before returning to Melbourne to attend the National Gallery of Victoria Art School. Her subject matter often included the coastal environment and the harbour. Beyond her own practice, she was a dedicated educator, establishing the Adelaide Perry School of Drawing and Painting in Sydney and later teaching at the Presbyterian Ladies' College, Croydon.
