The Life and Artistic Journey of Antonio Servillo
Born on November 12, 1964, in Padua, Antonio Servillo is a self-taught Italian painter from a Neapolitan family. His early artistic development progressed through periods as a draftsman and as a madonnaro. His work often explores episodes from his childhood in the small town of Campania where he lived with his family of origin. In the eighties, his painting transitioned into surrealist and metaphysical styles.
After moving to Rome in 1984, Servillo joined the historic Cento Pittori via Margutta, where he met established artists such as Mario Schifano and Paolo Salvati. His paintings present visions of a future world where man becomes a performer within the mechanics of androids that he attempts to create in the present. He has held personal exhibitions in Rome, Bologna, and Naples, along with numerous street exhibitions.
