Moritz Melzer was a German painter and graphic artist associated with the Expressionism movement. Born in Bělá u Jevíčka, Czech Republic, his early career began as a porcelain painter before he transitioned into formal art education. Between 1906 and 1908, he studied at the art academy in Weimar under Ludwig von Hofmann.
