The Artistic Evolution of Karel Colnot

Karel Marinus Hendrikus Colnot was a Dutch artist born in Bergen, Netherlands. As the son of the painter Arnout Colnot, he received artistic instruction from his father. During this period, his work began to reflect the influence of the French painter Cézanne. Beyond his studio practice, Colnot served as a drawing teacher at the Murmellius Gymnasium in Alkmaar from 1961 to 1964.
