Francesco Giuseppe Ciseri was born in Florence, Italy, into a world where art was a family language. In 1877, he produced a replica of the Sacred Heart of Mary, a work originally painted by his father, which was intended for the church of S. Fonti. This period of his life shows a young artist finding his footing by honoring the styles and subjects that had already defined his family name.
