Born in Brașov, Romania, Walter Teutsch began his professional life as a bank clerk before pursuing an artistic vocation. After moving to Leipzig in 1903, he eventually transitioned to Munich, where he attended the private painting school of Moritz Heymann and the Lehr- und Versuch-Ateliers für angewandte und freie Kunst.
