The Life and Training of Henry Allan
Born in Dundalk, Ireland, Henry Allan began his artistic journey by studying in Belfast and Dublin. Between 1882 and 1883, he attended the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art alongside Roderic O’Conor. Seeking further education, he enrolled in a summer course at the Académie Royale in Antwerp, Belgium, in May 1884. His academic success was marked by receiving the fifth prize for drawing from a figure in May 1885 and the fourth prize for a painting based on a model in 1887.
