Hussein Madi (1938 – 2024) stands as a prominent figure in Lebanese art history, celebrated for his distinctive sculptural works alongside his masterful engravings and prints that powerfully convey themes of Arabic heritage and cultural identity. Born in Sour, Lebanon, Madi’s artistic journey began with formal training at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts and subsequently honed his skills in Rome, where he pursued advanced research into Egyptian cultural heritage – a formative experience profoundly shaping his artistic sensibilities.
