A Life of Science and Verse

Leo Vroman was a Dutch-American hematologist, a prolific poet, and an illustrator. Born in Gouda, he studied biology in Utrecht before fleeing to London during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. His scientific contributions include sixty-nine research papers and the discovery known as the Vroman Effect.
