Recognizing the potential to revitalize Korean culture through contemporary design, she established Francoise in 1965 – Korea’s first ready-to-wear brand – marking a pivotal moment in establishing fashion as a vehicle for cultural dialogue. This bold initiative wasn't simply about creating clothes; it was about elevating Korean aesthetics onto an international stage and demonstrating the enduring relevance of traditional techniques within a global context. Ok’s collaborations extended far beyond the realm of fashion, notably encompassing the uniforms for the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the livery of Asiana Airlines. These projects demanded meticulous attention to detail and showcased her mastery of textile manipulation – skills honed through years of experience and fueled by an unwavering commitment to excellence. Furthermore, she has been a consistent participant in the Seoul Fashion Artists Association (SFAA) collections since 1989, consistently pushing boundaries and championing artistic experimentation within the Korean fashion community.
