He belonged to a family of artists, including his father Louis Lerambert, a master mason and sculptor, and his brothers Louis I and Pierre, who were sculptors. His professional journey began at the Château de Fontainebleau, where he was documented working between 1568 and 1570 under the direction of Primaticcio.
