Rahimi Lasko’s formative years were spent absorbing the sights and sounds of Abadan, an industrial city steeped in history and populated by a diverse working class—a subject matter that would come to define much of his artistic output.The Evolution of a Style: From Formal Training to Evocative Portraiture
Rahimi Lasko’s dedication to art led him to pursue formal education, culminating in a Bachelor of Painting degree from the University of Tehran. He also earned an advanced diploma in Fine Art from NCFE, University of England, broadening his perspective and refining his technical abilities. However, it was his commitment to realism that truly set him apart. His paintings are not merely representations of reality; they are deeply empathetic studies of individuals and their surroundings. The artist’s work often focuses on the lives of laborers, street scenes, and everyday moments—subjects frequently overlooked but imbued with dignity and emotional weight by Rahimi Lasko's skilled hand. He established his own gallery in 2011, providing a platform to showcase his growing body of work and engage directly with audiences. This period also saw him participating in numerous group exhibitions and art fairs, including a notable showing at the Reza Abbasi Museum in 2012 and Hiva Gallery in 2010.Recognition and Accolades: A Rising Star on the International Stage
Rahimi Lasko’s talent has not gone unnoticed. In 2013, he held a successful solo exhibition at Golestan Gallery, further solidifying his reputation within the Iranian art community. His work began to attract international attention with selections featured in an ARC (Art Renewal Center) competition in 2011 and 2012, resulting in publication in an art book dedicated to emerging artists. This recognition continued in 2014 and 2015, with his paintings “The Sound of Taar” and “Painting” receiving awards at the prestigious international ARC competition. These accolades culminated in a significant exhibition at the MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art) in Barcelona, Spain, in 2015—a testament to his growing influence on the global art scene. Beyond his own artistic practice, Reza Rahimi Lasko is deeply committed to education and the promotion of contemporary visual art in Iran. He also holds an official painting school license from the Ministry of Islamic Culture and is an active member of the Institute For Promotion of Contemporary Visual Art in Iran—roles that demonstrate his dedication to fostering artistic growth within his community.
