The German-born Stirner started his art career at twenty-three as a professional draftsman. Stirner then became an educator, teaching at Tyler School of Art, Temple University; Moore College of Art; and Swarthmore College. His work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Corcoran Institute, Washington, DC; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This work was featured in a retrospective exhibition of Stirner’s work held in Moravian College
