Albert Collins was an Australian painter, teacher, and actor who was born in New Zealand. His multifaceted career saw him transition from the classroom to the stage and the airwaves. Known as "Joe," he co-presented the Children's Session and the Argonauts' Club, and he famously portrayed the title character in the serial The Wide-awake Bunyip.

Additionally, he contributed to the design of the Common Seal for the Ku-ring-gai Council and illustrated several books, including works by H. S. Blake.
