This dual influence profoundly shaped his approach to creating artwork that transcends mere visual representation—aiming instead to communicate profound emotional truths and convey timeless themes.

• Early Influences: Stokeld’s formative years were marked by exposure to Slovakian Orthodox iconography, particularly the intricate depictions of saints and biblical scenes executed in traditional techniques. These images instilled within him a reverence for detail, color harmony, and the expressive power of symbolism—elements that would become hallmarks of his artistic style.

Stokeld's signature style is characterized by a remarkable ability to capture the essence of biblical stories—particularly those centered around Saint John the Baptist—with breathtaking realism combined with subtle artistic embellishments. He meticulously recreates landscapes and architectural settings, often incorporating elements of Gothic cathedral art, transporting viewers into immersive environments that evoke a sense of solemn grandeur and spiritual contemplation. His canvases pulsate with vibrant hues—primarily blues and golds—that convey both luminosity and depth, mirroring the divine light he seeks to portray.

• Technique: Stokeld employs painstaking layering techniques—often utilizing glazing methods—to achieve luminous surfaces and nuanced tonal gradations. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that every brushstroke contributes to the overall impact of his artwork.
• Symbolism: Recurring motifs—such as doves, lilies, and crosses—are strategically placed within his compositions to reinforce thematic ideas and evoke spiritual associations. Stokeld’s artistic choices are guided by a desire to communicate universal truths about faith, compassion, and redemption.
