Major Works and Commissions

In 1985, Creffield was commissioned by the Arts Council to draw every cathedral in England, a project completed while living in a camper van for two years. This resulted in the exhibition English Cathedrals at the Hayward Gallery, London. His drawings of English cathedrals, including views of Canterbury Cathedral and Peterborough: Approaching the West Front, were acquired by the Tate Gallery in 1990.

His commissioned series also included the cathedrals of northern France. Other notable exhibitions included:

The Jerusalem exhibition at James Hyman Gallery in 2011, inspired by William Blake's poem.
A major retrospective at Flowers Gallery, London, in 2005.
Participation in the Drawn from the Collection, 400 Years of British Drawing exhibition at Tate Britain in 2008.
