This evolution was catalyzed by his encounter with the visionary Lucio Fontana, an interaction that propelled him into the radical orbit of Spatialism and led him to sign the Third Manifesto of Spatialism in 1950.
As his career progressed, Crippa’s artistic language shifted from the geometric certainties of his youth toward a more gestural and spontaneous approach. He became a central figure in the Italian Informal movement, an era defined by a rejection of formal structure in favor of the raw energy of the medium itself.
