Arnold Böcklin Arnold Böcklin var född oktober 16, 1827 i Basel, Schweiz och död januari 16, 1901 i San Domenico vid Fiesole, Italien. Hans far, Christian Frederick Böcklin (född 1802), var av gammal släkt från Schaffhausen och arbetade inom sidenhandeln. Arnold’s moder, Ursula Lippe, föddes samma stad.
