A Life of Expressionism and Design

Born in Schwerin, Germany, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and began teaching in 1910. He was a founding member of the Darmstadt Secession, a group established in 1919. His professional journey included roles at the Odenwaldschule in Ober-Hambach and various professorships in graphic arts, weaving, and theater design at the State Art Academy in Kassel and the State Building School in Weimar.
