The Artistic Evolution of Peter Brüning
Born in Düsseldorf, Germany, Peter Brüning was a painter, sculptor, university teacher, draftsperson, and photographer. His early artistic development was fostered by his parents, leading him to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. His later career saw a shift toward new forms of expression, including the creation of "Legenden" and "Verkehrslandschaften," which utilized a visual language derived from cartography and traffic signs, a style referred to as "Semantische Kunst." From 1966, he also focused on sculpture and spatial arrangements.
