Early Life, Family and Training Wolfgang Hutter was born in Vienna, Austria, on December 13, 1928. He grew up in a household where art was a central presence, as he was the son of A. P. von Gütersloh. This familial connection likely shaped his early understanding of visual expression, providing a foundation for the diverse paths his career would eventually take as a painter, draughtsman, printmaker, and stage designer. His formal educ
ation began in earnest during the mid-1940s. From 1945 to 1950, Hutter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. During these formative years, he refined his technical skills under the guidance of Professor Robin C. Andersen.
