Early Life and Artistic Training Albert Flamm emerged from the German landscape tradition with a technical foundation rooted in the rigorous standards of the Düsseldorf school. Born in Cologne, Germany, in 1823, he entered the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf to refine his craft. His development was shaped significantly by his time as a pupil of Andreas Achenbach, a figure central to the era's approach to landscape. This training provided the
