He contributed to the 1932 Fausto lithographs and provided illustrations for Los consejos del Viejo Vizcacha in Martín Fierro. His visual language was also applied to the screen, notably through his work on the 1965 film Gotán.

His early work emerged during the period known as the retorno al orden. In these formative years, the structural logic of post-cubism met the emotional weight of expressionism.
