He is a second cousin to Giovanni Giacometti, part of an extended family tree that would eventually produce Alberto and Diego. n 1897 and 1901, the atmosphere shifts. Under the guidance of Eugène Grasset at the School of Decorative Arts, Giacometti learns the language of floral graphics. He adopts a style reminiscent of William Morris, applying manual skill to mosaics, clocks, and posters. The decorative becomes his foundation.
