Émile Bernard: Post-Empresyonist Bir Öncü Émile Henri Bernard, 28 Nisan 1868’de Fransa’nın Lille şehrinde doğdu ve 1941 yılında hayatını kaybetti. Sanat kariyeri, erken yaşta kız kardeşinin hastalığı nedeniyle büyükannesinin yanında geçmesiyle şekillendi. Büyükannesinin çamaşırhanesi, Bernard'ın sanatsal eğilimlerini destekleyen bir ortam sağladı.
