lopment Developed a strong affinity for portraying rural life and the dignity of labor through sketching trips in Europe. Visited the United States on lecture tours during the 1920s and 1930s, eventually emigrating in 1939. Became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1945. Awarded the Mr. And Mrs. Frank G.
