early life and education ahmed cherkaoui, a prominent moroccan painter, was born in boujad in 1934. he is widely regarded as one of the leading modernist painters of moroccan art, particularly during the period following the country's independence in 1956. cherkaoui's educational background played a pivotal role in shaping his artistic style, having studied at the école des métiers d'art and école des beaux-arts in paris, as well as the
